Silent Night

The stars were silent 

as if they had lost 

their keys to shine;

Lost in reflections 

Of others,

Relentless waves 

Of cold brine water

Swept them away

Like a lover's embrace:

It was a night of silence,

Yet,

The gushing waves 

Hesitantly attempted

To peek through

the trappings of sandy wounds

To ease anew

a familiar pain:

Engulfing, 

relentless,

Like persistent echoes

Trapped within

a lonely sea-shell,

Abandoned 

By the faeries

(Their footsteps disappearing

with each silent whisper)
